Embodied Power
The MOON 861 is a stereo power amplifier built to reproduce music with calm authority. Its dual-mono layout delivers 300 W per channel into 8 ohms and 600 W into 4 ohms, with generous headroom via MDCA architecture. Distortion remains below 0.001% even at full power, and the high damping factor ensures fast, uncompressed response. Designed as the final link in a high-resolution system, the 861 maintains absolute stability, free from emphasis, even in the most complex configurations.

Architecture & Headroom
Equipped with two 900 VA custom low-noise toroidal transformers and 240,000 µF of power supply capacitance, the MOON 861 delivers dynamic peaks with ease. Analog circuits are physically separated, magnetic shielding is reinforced, and internal layout minimizes capacitive coupling. Side-mounted heatsinks ensure consistent thermal dissipation. The overall design removes structural constraints, leaving only the signal, in its purest form.

Integration & Consistency
The rear panel includes RCA and XLR inputs, a stereo/mono selector, and a MOONLink port for seamless startup coordination with MOON preamplifiers. Standby consumption is reduced to 1.25 W, with a full-power idle mode for immediate responsiveness. The 861 is built to disappear behind the music, with no added coloration or variation. It pairs naturally with the 891 and any setup requiring headroom, stability, and silence.
